guys with t56 in there cars

I just purchased a t56 out of a 97 camaro ss. i bought a bellhousing on ebay and a brand new slave cylinder from the dealer. my question is when i piece them together out of the car it looks like i am missing a small cover that covers the area where the clutch/slave cylinder bolts to the tranny and bellhousing. is there a way i can buy this piece outright? i dont even see how it would bolt up.nothing looks broke or cut off on it. also where can i get the 2 studs that hold the cylinder on the tranny.

Car: '89 Formula

Axle/Gears: 3.70 9 bolt.
Start with the guys that sold you the bellhousing and the tranny, after that go to the dealer.
Mine came complete. Yes, it's 2 long studs that hold that extension piece and the slave cylinder to the bellhousing.

But you are better off getting it from the dealer because GMpartsdirect screws you big time on shipping.

i do that all the time... athough the parts counter closes early, so its a total PITA to get there.

depends on the part. yea they charge shipping, but if its a pricy part, you still save $50 or more compared to the dealer.. meanwhile if its a cheap part like a bolt or somthing, of course shipping looks high. its not pratical to ship somthing like a bolt or other small part.
they dont overcharge for shipping.. thats really what it costs them to pull the part, pack it and ship it to you.

i use GMPD when it saves money, and the dealer when it doesnt... best of both worlds..

btw, i got the part from a friend today.. he just had a extra one in his garage..
looked for a part number.... wasnt one cast or stamped on it though

Not always, sometimes yes, sometimes no. I saved 40 bucks from gmpartsdirect by getting a throttle cable from them, dealer wanted 60 bucks, gmparts direct was 20.
