Vibrations
I just finished installing a mild 400 into my 86. I noticed shortly after starting it, that I put the wrong balancer on (huge one, from a 350). Today I replaced it with the smaller one that the engine came with, however now there is a very obvious vibration, which was nonexistant before.
Now after looking at the flexplate, it looks identical to the one from the 350, no external weights. I'm thinking if I get a new flexplate for it, externally balanced, it should cure this vibration issue, since it will be in synch with the balancer, correct? Just wanted a second opinion before i start pulling stuff apart again.
