I'm workin on my 90 Camaro Iroc w/ 350. I have changed my tranny fluid 3 times in the past 2 months or so. For some reason the tranny fluid is burning. I've had it flushed the 3rd time to make it wasnt just old fluid in there. Still burning though. Can anyone tell me what causes this?? Is it something I can fix? Thanks in advance!!

is it truly burnt or just dirty?-if it's really burnt fluid will
be a golden yellow color

If it is burnt..... Id start looking now for a transmission. Sometimes you can pick one up for $250 or less. I got one for $100 once. Its always good to have a spare. Especially if you race or drive hard.

It might be the pump or the torq converter overheating and burning it.

Ive found that these transmissions have a tendency to run hot even if properly serviced. I had a similar situation. My fluid wasnt burnt but was moving in that direction and smelled off. So...i installed a tranny temp gauge to see what was going on. Anytime i hit stop and go the tranny temps would rocket up and up and not really come back down once moving again while the engine would cool off again once moving. My solution was to get an aftermarket cooler and plumb it in using the factory in the radiator cooler as well. Now i have not seen temps above 190 even in the heat of summer stop and go.
