Need someone to help diagnose this problem 700r4 clicking and hard to r/d
Hi all i noticed the problem starting while driving late at night with no traffic around. it was a rather faint clicking sound made once every 1-2 turns of the driveshaft after jacking up the rear end i slowly turn the rear tires (posi rear) and hear a strange click coming from the tail shaft of the transmission.
also when the car is running the transmission still slightly pulls in neutral just enough to spin the wheels and even after stopping the wheels they start rolling again.
any ideas on what might be wrong here ?

How are your shifts? I am willing to bet the clicking you hear is from your govoner. I wouldn't be too worried if it shifts fine. If it is spinning the wheels in neutral while in the air don't worry about it. There is just enough drag between the trans internals to spin everything. As long as it isn't doing it on with the car on the ground you are fine.

Shifts are fine. No slipping trans is running great but just get paranoid about strange noises. it has a shift kit so i think that might be responsible for the hard reverse to drive shift.
