I had 4L60 rebuilt by a guy thats well known for building stout 700R4s and I installed the transmission over the course of several months of lying in the cold garage on my back. I asked for an upgraded sun shell, .50 boost valve and a whole bunch of goodies to make it shift fast but not harsh. I believe that it also has the corvette governor but not the servo.

When I drove the car, there seemed to be no first gear, the car would always take off in 2nd gear. After awhile, there was no 3rd gear or 4th gear. I checked the fluid and noticed that there is a pin hole leak in one of the tranny lines.

After filling, I got 3rd back and 4th gear would work intermittently. If I manually shift the gears, the car will take off in 1st gear normally. Automatic, it always takes off in 2nd gear but shifts quickly/nicely into 2nd.

Now, this was the first time putting the tranny into the car and I believe that I put the "mousetrap" in correctly, as well as the detent cable. The gentleman I usually take the car to has gone out of business due to personal problems and the tranny builder cannot be contacted.

Any ideas?
