okay so the clutch line off of the 85 parts car im using for a five speed swap had a 1/4" od tube on a brass fitting that was held in by a pin on the master and release cylinders. the dumbass at the wrreckers cut this in half when i specifically said i needed the line. SO... where do i get one? i called my local gm dealer and the only way theyll sell it to me is if i buy the master cylinder too. they want 480 bucks. not happening. i bought both my master and release brand new from part source and neither came with the line or fittings. ive tried my local hydraulics shops and no one has a small enough tube.
if anyone knows a site i could get it off of or a dealer itd be a big help. thanks

Yeah it sux having to do your work through somebody else who proceeds to screw it up; I can offer no solution to that. As long as you're among a bunch of humans it's going to happen to you alot. I can hardly WAIT to get off this damn rock and back to somewhere inhabited by more logical, rational, dependable beings... but I'm afraid I'm stuck for the time being though, as are you.

However, you can buy the entire assy (reservoir, master cyl, line, slave cyl) from GM; last time I bought one for a T-5 (which admittedly was possibly before you were born) it was about $110.

I bought a T-56 one in about 2002 or so for seems like it was about $180. That one will also work on a T-5. That's what I'd do if I was in your shoes.

There are rumors that you can drill & tap the cyls and make up a braided stainless line with Earl's or Russell type stuff; never tried it or seen it done but you could consider that. But, considering that if it doesn't work perfect the 1st time you'll be back at GM buying the T-56 thing, and you'll be out the cost of a bunch of $$fittings$$ and $$line$$.

It's also not impossible that you could half-a$$ it with some steel brake line and some hose clamps, or maybe even a brass compression fitting, but I've never had any luck that way myself. ALOT of pressure in that thing.

i found a solution.
summit racing sells an adaptor for the type of connection with the pin. so you dont have to run the shitty plastic that no one has anymore

or you can get a lt1 style setup, as it already has a braided line. The pedal will engage higher though.
