Re: Coan vrs pi converters
It depends on the cam and how your tranny is set up.
I ran that same converter, it put out great performance, but it became tiresome for me on street. I've replaced it with a TCI 2800 and I like it a lot better.
If you know what cam you’re running you can get the manufactures recommended stall from their website.

Hey bud,
long time no talk
do you think 4.10 would be a bit much on the street?? I guess gears are a bit cheaper than a converter.....

Re: Coan vrs pi converters
All depends what you want.
With a 4.1 gear and you in 3rd gear at 6000rpm you would be going about 112mph
With a 3.73 gear and you in 3rd gear at 6000rpm you would be 124mph.
Since you never race your car and only do short trips, 4.10's would be the best if you had drag radials. Without DR's, you would shred the tires off.
A 3.73 gear would sacrifice a little mpg but give you more grunt on the bottom rpms.
You got a series 3 carrier in your diff right?
And you put on my diff girdle?
Personally, I dont think switching converters will give you what you want....

Re: Coan vrs pi converters
I wonder if there would be a great perf diff between the 3.73 and 410 gears
Yes it is a 3 series carrier
