Freshening up the 700r4

Hey everyone,

I just picked up a low mileage 700r4 from a 1989 camaro. I purchased a TCI shift kit, and the TCI Servo kit. I'm in the process of installing the shift kit, and was just wondering, On a mostly stock trans, what shift setting should I set it at? I starting prepping it for the "Extra Firm" shift. That means removing the accumulator springs and pistons and plugging some of the bleed holes in the accumulator bores. Will this be too harsh for a street car? I'm wondering if I should go with just the firm shift by using the accumuator springs with the spacers. I want a good solid shift, but I don't want it to cause any damage to the stock bands and clutches or even the case.

Any suggestions/help?

Also what other mods should I consider. I do plan on getting a new torque converter with a 2800rpm stall as well.
