Hey guys I need some help
In a 1982 factory positraction differential what kind of lubricant do I use?
Is there a special lubricant for posi differentials or a regular lubricant with some additive?

"Standard 80-90 weight and a friction modifer (GM P/N 1052358) if the limited slip is an Auburn.* A Gov-Lock or open/standard differential doesn’t require the additive. The rear holds approximately two quarts of gear oil.

*Though some TGO members use a full synthetic, such as Mobil 1 75-90, along with the above friction modifier, both Auburn and Eaton do not recommend synthetics for usage with their limited slips."

If you have the Auburn then you might need to add 2 bottles of the oil additive. Use one bottle first and see how it works. If it pops when you turn corners then put in another bottle of the additive. Most of the 4th gen cars with the Auburn need 2 bottles of the additive, but I haven't had any problems with using one bottle in the 3rd gen cars.
