700r4: Drive or overdrive: What do you drive in?
When you are city driving (under 70km Canada), what do you usually drive in?
DRIVE or OVERDRIVE and what are your reasoning's?
What are the PRO's and CON's do selecting only OVERDRIVE? (As i've done for 14 years but recently started leaving it in drive unless I'm wanting to go over 70KM in which I switch to OD to get the RPM's down).
Thanks

For the vast majority of everyday driving you can leave it in OD and if it's all set up right it should drop into whatever gear is appropriate even in city driving.

I think it's completely dependant on the rear end gear inside the car I'm driving. I've owned too many ThirdGens to count over the last couple decades and each one was different from the last.
With a 3.08 or 2.77's I'll used 3rd for just about all driving except for driving on an Interstate Highway. When driving around town or on State highways I'll leave the shifter in 3rd with those gear ratios.
With cars that have a 3.23 gear or numerically higher gear my normal driving habit is to leave it in 4th MOST of the time. 3.23 cars are left in 3rd a lot and up-shifted on State highways sometimes ( driving for miles and mile of non stop rolling ) but 3.42 and 3.73 cars rev pretty high with an automatic and I find it's better to keep them in Overdrive & let the tranny do it's own thing almost all the time.
Just my !!

If your axle gearing is matched to your cam, and your tune is really close to perfect, there's no reason you can't run around at 830 RPM at 30 MPH in OD with no problems. I know, I did it with a carbureted 350 for several months. That was a 3.08:1 axle with a stock "3896929" cam, BTW.
