what shifter does everyone run?
in my 86 im running a hurst stick with a ws6 store short stick
in my 02 im running a pro 5.0 with a umi short stick
i like to change things up and like both shifters so i think i will keep them as is. but i wanted to mix things up to get a different feel. i was thinking a lou's short stick on the iroc. has anyone tried this before? i think it should work.
for those unfamiliar with a lou's short stick, it has a bend towards the driver as well as a slight bend towards the rear of the car. heres the link

Re: what shifter do you run? (manual trans cars only)
I have steed tri-ax shifters in both my cars, on a tko600 and a t5. Love them though the stock stick is a little short and I needed to extend them a little to work properly.

I have an old B&M Ripper in my 83's T5 and a Pro 5.0 in the T56. I'm looking forward to driving it to see how the Pro 5.0 is.

Re: what shifter do you run? (manual trans cars only)
Bumping this as I was researching shifters when I found this thread!
Back when I had my Iroc-Z I had a B&M but they're the most expensive and not sure if there's any benefit.
On ebay there seem to be a few to choose from.
The first one I've never heard of but the price is tempting. Anyone try it yet?
Mookeeh - $99 shipped http://www.ebay.com/itm/MOOKEEH-MK1-Short-Throw-83-92-Shifter-Camaro-Firebird-V6-V8-T5-/141170332313?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&fits=Year%3A1983%7CModel%3AFirebird&hash=item20de685299&vxp=mtr
This one is tried and true...
Pro 5.0 - $165 shipped http://www.ebay.com/itm/1983-1992-CHEVY-CAMARO-FIREBIRD-T-5-PRO-5-0-SHORT-THROW-SHIFTER-/251297332790?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item3a827cfe36&vxp=mtr
And after reading this one I think it's the one I want to go with as it's the shortest and seems there's been more R&D into it!
Core - $175 shipped http://www.ebay.com/itm/Core-Shifter-6-Hurst-Chrome-Short-Stick-1983-2002-Camaro-Firebird-T5-5-speed-/281279275614?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&fits=Model%3AFirebird&vxp=mtr&hash=item417d8d225e
B&M - $191 shipped - http://www.ebay.com/itm/B-M-45051-CAMARO-1983-2000-W-T-5-TRANSMISSION-SHORT-THROW-SPORT-SHIFTER-Z28-/271327439046?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item3f2c6028c6&vxp=mtr

I have a T56 and use an MGW shifter, can't believe how short the throw is

Re: what shifter do you run? (manual trans cars only)
I took a spare stock T5 stick and cut it down to the same length as the pro 5.0.
same results, just no stops.
