automatic shifter lose?

Car: 91 camaro rs
Engine: 305 tbi
automatic shifter lose?
Hi guys so my shifter is lose I believe tranny works fine but when I try to put it in say reverse it skips like it's lose it bumps out as well its almost like its not lined up with the spots where it us suppose to stop also today I had to force it into park any help will be great

Please complete your profile so we know what your working on/with.
I would confirm that the manual shift cable is properly adjusted.
1. Put the shifter in neutral.
2. Raise the car.
3. Crawl under the car and remove the cable at the transmission shift lever.
4. Rotate the transmission shift lever clockwise all the way. This is PARK.
5. Now rotate the shift lever counter-clockwise two detents. This is now NEUTRAL.
6. Re-attach the cable at the shift lever. Torque the nut to 11 ft-lb (132 in-lb).
7. Lower the car.
8. Confirm that the shifter operates correctly.

Sorry its a 91 camaro rs 305 automatic just doesn't seem to wanna grab the park or drive or reverse its easy to go to far
