700r4 sk 700 jr vs 700 sr and boost valve sizes

whats the difference ?

ok i have the old 700 out of my twin turbo car that i need to put into another fbody

only issue with it is sometimes the tv valve sticks so i need to fix that,
what does each of the different kits do jr vs sr kit , or should i just get them both

ontop of that im going to order a .500 or .555 boost valve and .296 reverse boost valve

is the .555 valve to big

everything sound good for parts?

Re: 700r4 sk 700 jr vs 700 sr and boost valve sizes

You need to combine the 700-2-3 and the Junior kit the way I do if you want the fixes and the smooth part throttle shifts and quick WOT shifts. If you are going to add some serious horsepower, you will need to go through the transmission. If you want to do this right the first time, go with my Pro Street Elite rebuild kit if you are going to go over 700FWHP. Go to: https://www.700r4l60e.com/store/prod...&cat=19&page=1 If less horsepower, then go with the Pro Street or the Street/Strip rebuild kit depending on what you want to do. A good 9.5" or 10.5" lockup torque converter will be needed to go with this combination. Stall speed will depend on many things such as cam duration at .050" lift, lobe separation, type of heads, nitrous and or turbo or supercharging, rear end gear ratio, vehicle weight, etc. and how you drive. Call me if you want on this and I will answer any questions you have here. 909 795-1876 Dana

Re: 700r4 sk 700 jr vs 700 sr and boost valve sizes

dana its going behind a mild 350 (300 ish hp ) with a 100 shot of nitrous ontop of it

as far as i know theres nothing wrong with the trans except the sticking tv valve , and the fact it wouldnt make the 2-3 shift at wot behind my twin turbo engine( id have to lift let it shift and then slowly roll back to wot for it to hold)

just need it to hold up to the mild 350 + some occasional nitrous use

will the 2-3 , jr kit , and the .555 ( not .500) boost valve , .296 valve be enough for that?

just want it to last a while eventually the trans is getting swapped out for something a th400 on 4l80 so not looking to spend a whole bunch of money on it

Re: 700r4 sk 700 jr vs 700 sr and boost valve sizes

If the 3-4 clutches in the transmission are still ok, then adding the Corvette servo, .500" main boost valve, .296" intermediate/reverse boost valve, TransGo Junior with my modified instructions with the right separator plate hole sizes, you should be able to get it to hold up for awhile. In the long run here how much flywheel horsepower are you planning on making? The 700R4 when setup correctly can hold 700+ FWHP. Which would be a lot cheaper than a 4L80E or losing the overdrive to the use of TH400.

Re: 700r4 sk 700 jr vs 700 sr and boost valve sizes

were can i find those modified instructions at , my jr kit , boost valve arrived today, still waiting on vette servo and low rev valve
the engine im sticking this behind will prolly never make over 425/450hp unless my friend decided he wants to stick some turbos on it , at that point i wouldnt even consider the 700r4

im not abig fan of the 700 myself i have replaced way to many of them in my v6 turbo car , usually had to swap in a new one every month depnding on how much i raced it
used to keep 2 backups 1 built and ready to go, and one core ready for a build at the shop + the one in the car

Re: 700r4 sk 700 jr vs 700 sr and boost valve sizes

My kits are in many quick vehicles and they hold up fine. If they are built right, they will hold up fine, just ask around. E-mail me and I will send you the instructions you need. Once you get them, let me know so I can give you the correct hole sizes for the separator plate. What torque converter diameter and stall are you using here? Rear end gear ratio? and anything else that I should know here.
