Low gears with 2 series carrier... strength?
I've got a stock posi 2.73 rear from a 98 camaro. I'm going to have 3.73 gears put in it. I know they make 3.73 gears that work on a 2 series carrier. Using this setup is there any strength sacrifice? I'm going to be running about 400lbft into this through a t-56. Would I be better of to get a take off posi from slp (these come with 3-series carrier, right) and get normal 3.73 gears? How good is this take-off posi, is it the same thing I have in the rear end now? Keep in mind the take off posi is $100 and the gears for the 2-series carrier are like $15 extra.

The posi is from SLP, I'm not sure of their website... its a new take out from the cars they modifiy. The gears for 3 series gears in a 2 sereis carrier ar available from most of the big gear manufacturers... summit carries richmond and they make them... a set is around $200.
As for my question, I'm actually leaning toward getting the take off posi and some uses 373 gears. Can anyone shed some light on how this take out posi from SLP differs from the stock posi in my rear end which is from a 98 camaro, 273 gears.

When SLP builds up the Camaros, they install a stronger posi to handle more power. The 99 dollar one is the old weaker one. I would just use the 2 series 3.73's. I've had them for about 5 years now.
