kinked tranny line
obviously this will cause lower fluid pressure.
My tranny is shifting softer than expected considering it's mods, later than expected, and generally a little erratic. Could a lack of fluid pressure cause these problems?
I found a moderate kink in a tranny line, probably caused when a shop installed my trans cooler.

Hey Alex, what's up!
The trans lines carry fluid "after" it's been through the transmission. In fact, the cooler return tube just dumps the fluid back into the trans pan. So I don't think this would cause the problem... in fact, it might raise fluid pressure, since the pump would be pushing harder against the bent line- but I'm not sure about that. Could it be as simple as the TV cable needing a readjustment? I'll notice every now and then that my trans just doesn't shift as hard as it did- and that means it's time to readjust the TV cable. (I mark the slider with whiteout where it goes into the adjuster, so I can see if it's off it's last "adjusted" position.)

Yeah, I had the injectors cleaned up by Rich, and swapped 'em in. I used the pushrods & headbolts for a friend's 2.8 ( http://www.geocities.com/tomp_3rdgen ). I cleaned off the heads, but never bought a valve spring compressor. My girl bought me one over Christmas, but I haven't had a chance to do anything with it yet. Hopefully I'll have time when this semester's over. Speaking of that; I should really stop slacking off and get back to this C program that's due today! (sigh) And looks like there's a ton of metal inside the intake manifold, near the injectors, that could be removed. Seems like 1/2 the injector is shrouded by the intake manifold wall. I wonder what happens if that's opened up!
