Guys If You Don't Act Now, You Could Loose The Chance To Ever Get Headers!!!

Guys, lets face it, CHC is not getting enough bussiness to make money on this project. He needs your help to get started. Let him know that your interested so maybe he won't drop the project

CARB holding you back ??? , let him know that!!!!!

Not having a Y-pipe holding you back ????, let him know that!!!

If you are interested, let him know before you loose the chance to have headers, or you'll never be able to build a performance v6 in your thirdgen!!!!

Lets let CHC know who intersted!

Uh.. your wasting your time.. he already said its over like I said in my other post... I was intrested but I don't see how he expected every v6 owner looking to upgrade to have flocked to him inside of two months... but oh well.. do what i'm doing.. consider a v8.. never a shortage in supply for parts to that.. i kno its a sin to suggest it.. but hey.. at least you don't have to beg someone else for custom parts or wonder what could have been if you had gotten a pair when you had the chance..

I was not expecting a "flocking" but only 3 people stepped up. In my book that just told me I was wasting my time.

I am not "begging" anyone to buy the sets I have left, and I am not asking anyone else to "beg" for them either, and I am not doing this to inflate my ego. Look back about a year now and see when I first took on this undertaking(long before you even came to the boards) and you see a person that was going to do what ever it took to get himself a set of headers(Hell I wasted a ****load of cash on hedmans that do me no good) and I asked on the boards if anyone else was interested. There was a good showing then and through the project it remained. Then all the sudden it goes away, and so does the project. Hell I know that now I can make headers for my car at any time. I can experiment all I want now without having to be under the gun.

As a side note, I now only have 3 unclaimed at this time. That also depends on if I can get the set back from CARB, if so then 4.

I think the problem is like many people I am waiting for someone else to buy first.
No offence to anyone but I will wait to hear how they go, how many people get mad or if delivery get clogged up.

Not saying anything against anyone but maybe if Thirdgen.org was officially backing the sales, with money back guaranties; more might jump now.

I could be accused of being too honest but I think other are waiting for some of you others to be the guni pigs first too.

Well it looks like I missed out on buying me a set. But I have plans with a co worker from work to make a set of headers "he works in the header dept" Tommorow I have to go to back to the mosquito yard and get a set of stock manifolds to make the pattern from. I am looking in my town or surroundings for a dyno to do some testing and just to know how much hp I really have.

Don't they make header pipes that people can buy and make into their own headers if they want ? My cusion-in-law is REALLY good with welding and Im sure he can do this ! I was thinking it might even be cheaper than the 3.4 headers to get some of those pipes and let him make me up something .

I'm not reall sure on that. But were gonna make everything "except for the tubes" from scratch. I am going to get some 1/4 thick steel by 6 inches wide and 12 foot long"he needs some metal for a project of his" I am going to drill all the holes for the flange and collector, and he will finish the rest.

yeah ..good luck trying to fit them in....

camaro_hunter really has some patience i have to say...
nearly a week of struggle with those so called hedmanns they never went in or out in a breeze....his headers went like liek a breeze and best of all try fabricating a Y pipe for the heddmans

i have the utmost respect for him...he has ideas really good ones ..but lacks the funding... (trust me he couldve paid his car loan off if he didnt waste the money on this header project ...but hell like CHD said ...he learnt a lot outta this and so did i ... )

Im rally interested in the headers too, but I need a y pipe if ours doesnt fit or is more restrictive. I can get the money in a couple of weeks. I really really want them. I don't wanna loose this opportunity. The headers are the last thin I need before my exhaust is complete. C_H_C email me to let me know please my email is spectre_8@hotmail.com

ok 1st. Premade tubes for V6's do not exists. you will have to bend them up.

2nd the flange only needs to be 3/16-1/4 by 3 tallX12 long.

3rd. 91Rsttop, good luck getting your slave cyl to fit. Trust me it won't. Not with the hedmans anyway.

4th. Yes the ship set sail, got 5 feet and sank to the bottom. If you guys were waiting for others to be the guini pigs... too bad. (hey KJ I have a set going to HI- maybe you can get ahold of the guy when they get there so you can check them out)

5th. Right now I have payments for 2 in hand/paypal, and 1 in the mail(plus 1 to carb) Now out of 10 that leaves 4. Why does that leave 4 instead of 6? simple I have set 2 aside for (they know who they are) that have been supportive and they need the CARB number, so I set aside theirs for them.

P.S. I am not promising ANYTHING, but MAYBE in another couple months I MIGHT start doing 1-2 a week. This also depends on what the RX7 people do.

"If you guys were waiting for others to be the guini pigs... too bad."

Now I didnt mean anything buy it but I have not been around here enough to know anyone well enough to send them money in the mail.

But honestly if people turned out very happy with them, I / we could capatlize on it.

If they turn out well and if everyone was happy.

I know I could get 3-4 of the ***** shop around me to buy 3-4 of them to keep in stock.

My self I do not know if I would honestly wants a set, I have dreams of a 4.3 mod.

why are you dropping in a 4.3? You do realize its 90* and would require the same amount of work/money to just drop in an eight. I respect keeping the six, but a 4.3 is not the best option, budget wise... 3.4 is better and these headers bo't right up to that too!

It doesnt matter, with little mods to the existing LS1 tubes we can get them to fit properly.
2nd the flange only needs to be 3/16-1/4 by 3 tallX12 long.
I know the reason why I put 6 in tall, because I'm going to saw it in half to make two flanges at once" plus its cheaper to do it this way instead of buying 3 X 12 pieces of stock. Sorry if I sorta sounded like a dick, but I want to learn how to do this stuff myself as well.

cause a good built 305 or 350 will rip apart my t5 and rear end if I abuse it. I had a 305 been there and itz ho hum. I want to stay in the v6 range. 4.3 is as big as they get.

Yes but the 3.8 series II is a FWD only motor... the 4.3 is a lotof work but the 3.8 series II would be a recurring nightmare

A DOHC 3.8 would be awsome but make it fit and work???

A 3.4 mod is just too easy? I like some challange and creativity.

A 4.3 is really a 350 missing two cyls. It came in 4x4 trucks and monte carlos.

also just basically being a v8, it will handle plenty of boost or nitro.

so lots of parts but very easy to work on. I really want to scrap my computer. Give me an O2 sensor and a volt meter and I can tune my car better. I am not unhappy but I feel helpless when I can not control the engine more.

a 3.8 would be awsome, a 3.4 is ok. doing a v8 has been done and kinda too easy.

I want to stay v6 but go big.

I could go old school and drop a 300 straight 6 and a 2 speed power glide in it. :lala:

300? why not a 283? LOL maybe a 302? plenty of revs, but thats about it.

I am thinking of the 4.3 too, I like it. best thing is that you can take it both ways, carb'd of Comp'd and you can even get that handy dandy 3.8 Eaton M50 S/C to bolt on!, or go to an all out C/F

I am thinking of the 4.3 too, I like it. best thing is that you can take it both ways, carb'd of Comp'd and you can even get that handy dandy 3.8 Eaton M50 S/C to bolt on!, or go to an all out C/F
With the 4.3 comming in a 4x4 truck, there is an option to buld an all wheel drive v6 thirdgen. just a few more dollars and some head scratchin....

Theres nothing more impressive than 2 tires smokin unless you can do all 4...

I am sure with a 4.3 a 12-13 sec v6 on boost is possiable. There is that van doing it with a 4 banger.

just need a good turbo and an engine that can handle it.

boost is cool.

Yeah the S10 platform was a mid 13sec and the blazer was a high 13. Not bad for some "Mini Trucks"...
