Relocating Battery
The battery try in my car is not in the best of shape, a prev bat leaked and started rotting it away. I noticed tonight that their seems to be a alt/dual battery try on the right side, same place. Am I correct? Has anyone ever put theirs their, or put in a dual setup? Also will a charcol canister work right upside down, or laying on its side? And will a CAI go to the left and clear the upper radiator hose? I know I will have to extend the wires for the IAT, but thats no biggie. I am basical wondering if I can move some crap to put the bat their in a more secure spot so it wont move. I DO NOT want it in the back of the car!! This is going to be a daily driver, not a racer. Much thanks!!!

I'm putting mine in the trunk, & it will share in daily driver status.
cannister will work properly only in the factory orientation.
for batt in trunk, seal off vent to hatch area & make vent to outside (mine allready has this via rust hole in bottom of spare area
summit has kits for $42.95
edit: batt over right rear wheel will increase traction on no-posi rears

Yea, I knew the over the right rear tire trick due to my s10. I have the box to put it in the truck, but wont, its my wifes/kids car and dont want any possible fumes to get in the inside, and if she needs a jump start, and I'm not around, she will be like WTF?? wheres the battery?? The part that is missing is the "hook", I'm not worried about the bottoms, its still fairly solid, but that one part is all gone.

That tab is part of the "frame" of the car. It doesn't unbolt or anything. Its flat rusted away
You are right.
BUT there is one probably on the other side of your car awaiting to be relocated!
Or there should be a battery bolt down set up for adapting to that damaged side.
Go to a tractor supply store.
Full frame top piece to lay down ontop of battery, run two bolts thru to bottom.
Use body shop fender washers for extra support.

ok, im lost
How am I to get it out, cut it?? I rather not cut. I would rather swap sides. I could possibly borrow a welder, get some small steal strips and weld that in their.

You car does have that other tab, I'll bet. Use a cut off wheel to remove.
Visit a local yard for subjects to butcher or check out ideas.
Lots of options, just gotta use what works best.
Including local resources to solve this problem.
Shouldbn't be too difficult.
Awkward, sure, but, use common sense for safety & welding/drilling.

Dale,
You can prob. swap the charcoal Can & the Batt. just by using longer hoses to the can.
But my Batt location is getting pretty rusty, and I thinking FIBERGLASS. Get the glass&resin at your local autoparts store - (get lots o rubber gloves). It conforms to the shape of the metal, you can build up multi layers till its strong (they make corvetts outof it, i'm told) and once it sets up, Batt acid wont harm it. You can sand it, paint it, and hey- your Batt is going to sit on it - NOBODY is gona SEE it any way! Get an after market Batt hold down and your in like Flinn.
I reinforced my hood latch catch with it. Its a little messy to work with but hey - Cut some squares of glass cloth and practice mixing the resin before you start - it won't stick to a smooth waxed surface. Have fun.

I use fiberglass all the time, but im not really wanting that brace over the top, but that is looking about the easiest. So I may look into that. Plus I am gonna be in their making a mess with the stuff to build my cai box. So that prob will be my best way
