pcv hoses

i am the king of breaking hard hoses especially the emissions ones... well now ive managed to break the pcv hose that goes into the throttle body and the piece that connects the two is also broken ( behind the plenum ) i've looked at all junk yards for it but theyr'e stripped, any suggestions on how to get this part? or for a fix for it?

I was lucky and had the lines from the 3.4 to use as spares.

save as much of the old lines as possible, & get new lines to splice inbetween.

Reminds me of the 2.8/2.8 swap I helped my friend with... he snapped that large plastic hose. We rebuilt it with heater hose... check out the 10th picture at http://www.geocities.com/tomp_3rdgen . Yeah it was ugly but it worked... it might hold you over until you can get to a junkyard. We used a t-connector that was meant for heater hoses, and since the line to the pcv valve was smaller, we wound up using the same size hose all around, and then wrapping the pcv valve with electrical tape. We really wanted the car to start that night, and the parts stores were already closed!

Looking back... if we had access to parts, it would've been nice to have used the same size hose all around- but instead of electrical tape, I bet we could've found a large-to-small tubing adapter, and screwed one end into the "large hose". Then we could've hooked the adaptor's small end up to a small hose that would fit the PCV.

if it's the hard plastic line that goes under the intake plenumn then i know what you're talking about too.. i don't remember the piece being 5 bux, as it was pretty long, i kept my old one, but when the guys were replacing the engine they broke the one that was on there...so i picked a new one up from the dealership, think it was 30 bux max...but closer to eh, the lower end of prices.

the part from gm is not servicable so im going to have to use heater hoses and a 't' to connect them... thing is the small hose that leads to the cannister is broken so im not going to be able to hook that up, what im wondering is what will be the negative effects when the car is on? since i wont be hooking up that line??

my car ONLy has these lines in red, no can or lines to the egr thingy, runs fine. As long as you dont leave any vac lines open to leak.

no thats not it... look at the hose that goes from the right valve cover into the back, that hard plastic back there is the piece i broke, i managed to make a whole new system out of heater hose, and using a copper pipe "t" as a connecter. it runs fine without the little hose hooked up. still need to clamp down a hose but other than that i've rigged it up pretty good.
