i know there is no specific area of this site for this question so i figured that this is the best place to post this question.

i just got my 4cyl running after i swaped in a T5, and now i want to clean up/improve upon the massive 90 hp thats in there now.

does anyone know of other applications that used the 2.5L iron duke with turbo or a supercharger that i could find in a junk yard?

the make and model and year would be greatly appreciated.

thanks in advance.

any other vehicles that had a turbo or supercharger would have to be modified to fit in your car. probably be best to build a setup from scratch for it. but there isnt anything that i am aware of that had any kind of forced induction on an iron duke

I think some of the sunbirds got the turbo 2.5 ( not sure if tech 4(iron duke) or the quad poor), and the grand prix got the turbo 3.1.

Nope Sunbirds were 2.0L OHC brazillian designed engines, VERY different than the 2.5.

There were no OEM 2.5 equipped vehicles that came with a turbo. There were turbo kits available back in the '80s for the Fiero, which would need some modifications to fit.

Your best bet would be to build from scratch. Maybe start with a Thunderbird turbo or Chrysler turbo. Chrysler had a 2.5 turbo in thier Minivans back in the late '80s early '90s.

i wouldn't trust ANY chrysler 4banger, especially the turbo models, as they were overbored & more prone to teh blue smoke of death than the regular POS 4bangers

Funny, my old 84 reliant ran great for the years that I had it. Never had a lick of trouble with it at all. Never smoked or anything. Damn thing got great mileage too.

And BTW there are a few of those caravans embarrasing LS/LT 1's at the track. Fastest one I saw ran close to a 12.4 or something like that... Not to shabby for a brick with sliding doors.

Yep, can't see why not, there are a few guys getting north of 200 HP with the stock Chrysler turbos.

http://www.turbovan.net is one Turbo Caravan owner's site. He's spent close to $10,000 on his van over the past few years for parts and other stuff, and his fastest time is a 12.6.

Of course, given some of the cars he beat, I'm sure it was worth seeing the looks on the other drivers' faces as a MINIVAN zooms ahead
