omg i have been trying to get this thing running and out for a test run for the past two weeks. well here is the story. i had it running smoothly for a couple days with a few issues here and there nothing major. stuff like stripped out both side mounts on the batter so i got new cables. and ways replaced all that stuff and it ran really good. so from all the crank over my eninge in the past couple of motnhs trying to get it to start that starter wiggled its self free. then it broke in half. so i went out got a new starter. put it in and nothing. then i meesed with it for a couple hours and realized oh i never hooked up the power cable accesorie wire and i had no fuel pressure. i thought it was a bad fuel pump, but then i hooked up the wire and im fine at about 40-45 psi. brand new spark plugs, new cap and rotor. new distributor and new coil. but this wont start. ive pulled the distributor a million times before and got the timming close enough to start and then just twisted the distributor until it ran good enough to hook up the timming light. anyways ive got the timming set at about 10* advanced. and i always get it to start there, but it wont for some reason. even when i pulle the distributor and rotate it 18-* still noting. any ideas or someinthg i might be over looking.

so just to clarify, you get it to start but not all the time? or it wont start at all? if youve been cranking on it a lot, pull all the plugs and see if theyre super soaked w/ gas, they may not be able to spark. also, get a spark tester, looks like a spark plug w/ a clip on it. test to make sure youve got spark. you are getting fuel to the cylinders right?

yeah before i changed the starter and the cables i could get it to start anytime i wanted. but now doing the same stuff it wont. i did check the plugs and they where soaked so i put in new ones and still nothing. and i am getting fuel. so i guess next would be to check for spark.
