New guy
Hey everyone...my name is Scott...i'm from east tennessee near knoxville...i'm 21 and workin on gettin my life straight...i've always been into cars...had one since i was 13...had a taste of about every kind of car there is...i won't lie i'm a Ford guy but that's just what i know one could say i'm fluent in Ford. i currently own 4 rides... a 97 Ford Thunderbird(work in progress), a 94 Mercury Cougar(parts car), 2001 Cavalier Z24(Daily Driver) and my recently acquired 90 Camaro RS 2.8 V6...it's not wonderful but it's gonna make me a nice criuser...i'm not really Chevy smart but i'm generally mechanical...it's new to me..i got the car on a trade and it seems like it'll be a good car once i get it all back together. With that i'm sure i'm gonna be needing Help with this ride and lots of info maybe even some parts..That's my intro and i just want to thank everyone in advance...

Welcome to Thirdgen.
I have only owned my RS for about a month and I am seeing this is a labor of love.Kinda like riding a Harley to say.Good luck and hopefully your new ride will help convert you from the darkside.

hello newguy. I'm a new member here as well and I won't hold it against you that you're a Ford guy, ( for now anyways ). *S*
I just recently brought a 1992 Chevy Camaro RS, 3.1L v6, ( which is My second Comaro, my first being a 1987 Z-28, with a 454 v8 in it ). Loved that car, and just Had to get another one. They loo so cool they handle well they corner great and the Camaro and the Firebird will beat a Porche Everytime.
Anyways, what I've found out about thirdgen folk is that many of them are very knowledgable, freindly and very helpful. you'll learn a lot here, you'll get good information, you'll get lots of different views but all of them will elighten you much about these fine cars. I was glad when GM brought the Camaro back.
Lastly, welcome to thirdgen.org. take your time. learn as you go along. ask lots of questions.listen to the good advice you will get here, decide which way you want to go with it, ( since you have lots of options ), spend your money wisely, and you will be happy with your end results and enjoy a great handling performance car. best wishes on your build. *S*

Welcome man,
I have been on here for about 8 months. I have learned a ton here. My son and I have an 88. It's mine for a few more months till he gets is license. I have been able to fix a lot of things just by checking TGO. Good Luck!

Yeah come to think of it I'm surprised I didn't catch that year and displacement mismatch, less its not the original engine, then 1990 Camaro and 2.8 v6 are mutually exclusive..And if it's not the original engine whoever swapped that thing in must not have cared much for speed,lol...Anyway welcome to tgo.

thanks for the welcome 89-bird. while I've just joined thirdgen.org, I've been stopping in here and doing lots of reading, learning growing and becoming more knowledgable about my car. I also go into carcraft.com for lots of technical articles as well. and what I like about those articles is that they are loading with pics in a step by step format. I mean it can't hurt right? They say a little knowledge is dangerous. lol
That might be another good source of ideas for information for you Heavy_Chevy. Best wishes on your build. *S*

Re: New guy
yeah i read somewhere before. actually before i found this site...i think it was wikipedia that the 2.8 ended in 89...which freaked me out so i checked VIN to title and it matched...so the wheels in my mind started turning and i checked the manufacture date in the door panel...it was made is 6/89 which was a huge relief to me. i know i'm on a chevy forum but my thunderbird is the same way...it was made in late 95 and titled a 96...i've been doing the same as above and just checking stuff out reading alot...i really like how this thread is set up having a fab section and a audio section.. great forum i think i'll have lots of questions later on after i get it running....thanks guys
