Buying 1987 Firebird Thurs!!!!

Well, I am always reading the fine tech articles, and problems, and Mod stuff you guys are talking about,(TomP I love your advice) and have finally found a car.

1987 Firebird, Grey, fresh $1000 paint job, new brakes, two new Good Year Eagles on back.

All it needs is 2 new tires for the front, tail pipe, and a new wire run to the signal light.

$1200, and it will be in my yard Thursday...

Think about a Dynomax cat back as a initial mod...

Wow, Joe, sounds like you got one heck of a deal! Especially w/the paint job... I don't mind doing engine/trans/etc work, but I -hate- bodywork. Welcome to the board!

Well, I won't be gettin it until Satuday now, the guy as going to bring it up Thursday, but the Alternator went on his car (cavalier), so he is running out to buy one for it tomorrow. So he said Saturday, doesn't really matter its winter so I have no plans of running the car for another 2 months.

Dynomax cat back as a initial mod... well I'll think about it (what will it run me in price). Thanx for the suggestion.

Great Score!
I paid $300 for mine & it needed body work, engine work, but a new tranny!
I swapped in a 3.4 after I killed the 2.8 and got body panels from the wrecking yards.
I love this car!
You'll enjoy!

The Dynomax super turbo catback (dual pipes out), part # 17493, is $149.95 from Summit Racing. They also charge another $5 for the bulky/heavy shipping on top of their usual $6 handling fee. It's also the same exhaust that V8 guys use if they have a 305 (that's not engine codes H or E).

You can hop to http://www.summitracing.com to check the price, put in part # WLK-17493. (WLK stands for Walker, the guys that own Dynomax.) The order & tech guys there at 800-230-3030 are pretty helpful too.

Well, I have the car in my yard now, well, it had a nice paint job on it, until he went to leave his driveway, and the front end swung,(he was on an Icy driveway) and the guy who was bringing it up put a dent fair above the drivers signal light...

Well, what can you do,

What all do you need to put GFX on an 87 Firebird? What am I talking in cash? And what color do you guys think would go best with a medium Grey? (I am thinking Charcoal myself)
