V6 exhaust

I have a 1989 firebird. The 2.8 is currently getting swapped to a 3.4. I have a fivespeed. What exhaust do u guys recommend. I've heard some say the flowmaster 80 series is good but some say it sounds horrible. Then I heard alot about the dynomax 2.5 inch. So what do u all this would sound the best with the 3.4 liter?

Right now the only "non-stock" muffler I have is the Flowmaster 80 series w/36in.X 4in.chrome tips on my 3.1 Firebird. It sounds pretty good to me.People swear that I have a V8 under the hood because it sounds just like one, gotta raise the hood and let them count the sparkplugs! It sort of has a draw back though,to me its a little loud inside the car, thinkin about checking into something that sounds almost the same on the outside, but a little less noisy inside the car.

ya but I'm only putting dual 2.5 inch tips and I heard the 8o series only sounds good with echo tips. I'm thinking bout a dynomax super turbo probaly with both tips coming out the left side.

89BlackBird, just noticed, I hope that's a typo. You are replacing the 2.8 with 3.4 right? (No offense)

I have flowmaster on my 92 bird and i love the sound. Yea it makes a nice loud sound if thats what your looking for. If you want the noise to be lower flowmaster isnt the one.

Ya sorry i'm new here and just missed that type. Ya I'm dropping in a 3.4 not 2.4. Well will the 80 series sound good and deep with those 2.5 inch tips? I know it'll never sound like a V8 but I can try.

Whatever muffler you get (I have the Dynomax Super Turbo), make sure you buy a full cat-back for the most gains... (and least headache of installing it yourself!)

Just think of the $$ you could save if you did it yourself! Not to single you out, but I just think it's weird that 9 times out of 10, people get their exhausts installed at a shop.
