IIRC forged pistons could actually cause a loss in power, due to being heavier than stock pistons. And as it's been stated before forged pistons are kinda pointless on an N/A build.

If you wanted an aluminum flywheel, the only off-the-shelf flywheel that bolts to these motors is for FWD engines. So either custom, or do a lot of mods to use the FWD flywheel.

For example, you'd have to mount the starter differently, probably relocated it to the driver's side, which would mean clearancing the bellhousing for it, and then figure out if the clutch would engage the input shaft splines properly still. At the very least you would need a TOB spacer and possibly would have to swap to an S10 T5/bellhousing since they work with the thinner FWD flywheels (a friend has one in his S10 with a Gen II 660).

After all that if you still want an aluminum flywheel it would probably be best to have one custom made.

Ill ask my machine shop if he can I'm sure he won't hve a problem lol it's just the cost. Good call on sticking to stock pistons thank you for that 2 cents

my engine shop just quoted me about 2500

to completely rebuild the 3.4 up with new pistons all new parts seals, etc.

i wanted to tell him i will buy the 260 cam from delta cams but i want to make sure it is smog legal for california?

sorry to change the topic, but i have a question, if 2.8 heads fit on the 3.4 would it work reversed? and does this apply to the carbed 2.8 also? so i guess my question is will 3.4 heads fit on a carbed 2.8 and is there any worth while gains to expect? i have a edelbrock cam, intake with 4 bbl top, valve covers, with comp 1.6 roller rockers.
