I called a place yesterday on the block for me to pick up today and the guy was a no show. So I have to wait till monday(Which I have class late 6pm) so I can get on it then. But just remember after I get that block to mold on and with spring break right around the corner I should be able to get several sets done ina very short period of time. I also finaly got a pointer on my degree wheel so I can measure down to 1* changes.

Yeah I am getting really frustrated with all the snags too. I would have loved tobeen able to get htese things going oh like a month ago, then I could have my car paid off and been saving for the turbo build up.
but as someone asked before I have quite a bit of money tied up in this so far, though The bender I will use to make more then just headers(Like a custom roll bar with the low side rails) Better to have spent 500 on that bender and be able to make not only the headers, but with an additional die to make just about anything else too like a Strut Tower Brace, sub frame connectors, Lower control arms.. ect ect...

Turbo compatable does not mean ONLY turbo. You can still have a shop make the Y pipe go back to your cat. BUT if you want the turbo set up sorry your just gonna haft to wait a while...

You said that we should gain around 10-20hp. Is that with stock catback and CC or what. ALso how much would a y-pipe cost from most muffler shops. And if you got time can you make a y-pipe for they headers, it will make life alot easier. ALso are we going to have to worry about ground clearance with these headers on ours V6s

Then after I get the mottor rebuilt and the 4.3 ready to swap in I will reinstall the 3.1 and boost untill something breaks and record what is needed for each step and the mods needed to support it. To put it this way i want to get about 300 HP outta this 3.1 turbo. Thats realistic and quite a surprise to a Z racing you.
As the HP/Trq gain, I am going by what has been posted as that the hedmans have gained 10-15 maybe more ON THEIR OWN. Now MINE ARE DIFFERENT FROM THE HEDMANS. I expect to get similair results however. Plus mine have the option of the turbo.. Hmmm... Now you add the Cat bach high flow cat ect ect, you get more power. So in all you could get 25 HP from the headers, Y pipe, high flow cat and cat back system.

Ok. I have the block now sitting on a stand in my garage. This week I plan on having the molds done. and have pics of them on the block on the stand. I also got the factory manifold so I know the location and sice of the EGR stuff.
Mods to have the turbo.
1. Rebuild the engine.
2. Lower the compression to AT LEAST 8:1
3. Performance bearings all around.
4. Debur the oil passages in the block to aid oil flow.
5. The strongest pistons you can get.
6. Stock CAM WILL WORK, Turbos like MILD CAMS HOWEVER. More lift the better too.
7. Cooling system. Stock will work fine. Just make sure you have 100 percent flow and the system is clean.
8. Oiling system. I would recomend a low pressure HIGH VOLUME pump. Volume for keeping the oil cool.
9. Speaking of keeping oil cool. GET AN OIL COOLER. Install it before the turbo oil feed.
10. Blow off valves, adjustable waste gate.
11. Ignition. Aftermarket. Period. Stock will not tkae much over 4 PSI.
12. Plugs. 2 stages colder then stock. Just like your running NOS.
13. Engine mounts. STRONG ONES. Same goes for the tranny mount.
14. Drive train. Up to you. I would upgrade and or rebuild everything under the car. Get rear LCA's, pan hard bar, ect that the v8's have to get when they start building up power.
15. Run a cooler thermo. 180 should do it.
I know there are other things but I am spurting this out real quick.
