Hello fellow thirdgeners.... i just want to start a thread to see how many of us are runnig corvette rims on our thirdgens... i know there are a lot of you guys out there so post your pics of your thirdgen on corvette rims..
ill go first.... My 88 camaro on C6 Corvette rims.. 18X8.5" front 19x10" rears
Did you have to do any modifying to the rear wells to fit the 19x10s other than maybe roll the lips? Also what size tires are you running all around? Car looks good.

Tires are 245 40 r18 front and 285 35 r19 rear......i actually had to do no modification to the rears... besides putting the spacers... some people on this board were saying to go with 2.25" spacer... but i ended up going with a 3" spacer and they bolted up with no other modifications... because if i was to go with the 2.25" as it was posted on the board i would have had to modify the inner wheel well... but there is also a down side for the 3" spacer.... it wont work if ur car is lowered , but since mine is not lowered i have no problems... but now i want to lower it and i have three options so the wheels wont rub.... run a 4th gen rear end.... roll in the fender lip.... or get spacer made thinner take off 1/2" or soo... but thats only if i would lower it other than that there is no problems....
That looks good. I like those on there the best. And how did your 315's on the front test go?
it actually went pretty well, but it did rub when turning but not as much as I expected.
These were Sumitomo htr z 315 tires which are about 1 inch or so skinnier than a normal 315 for some reason.
The wheels wouldn't even fit on the back of my car when we had 315/35/17 BFG G-Force TA KD's on the wheels. The tire would hit the inner fenderwell before the wheels were even bolted on. Sumitomos have plenty of clearance in the front and rear.
Also, the wheels are 17x9.5" which you are not supposed to mount a 315 onto for safety reasons.
hey razor nice car, got any rear shots, just wondering how wide those rear tires are
Well they are MT Sportsman SR's. Mickey says they are 18" by 12" wide and 26" tall. Right now I don't have any good pics of the back end. I can say that I run a 4th gen rear end with no spacers, bump stops are removed and certian spots on the inner wheel well were tweaked but I have full travel of suspension with the rear tires tucking under the lip of my 1/4 panel with no rubbing.
Yes as soon as i can afford a new wing, i actually think i am going with 4th gen wing.

Don't go with a 4th gen wing. If I had known you wanted to go with what came factory, I would have sold you mine for what I got it for...I have the spoiler you need...it's factory original and in perfect shape. Oh well.

I hate the spoiler that is on my car now....hate it!
The wagon wheels (IMHO) look like they were designed for the third gen. Why something with so many straight lines was designed for such a curvaceous vehicle (C5) is beyond me. These wheels dont even look good on fourth gens because the have so many curves. C5 owners treat wagon wheels like the plague. I've had one replaced by Corvettes of Houston a few years ago, and he sold it to me for $75 !! I called him just recently and he told me that they had run out, but that people were using em for boat anchors because they hated em so much... crazy...
Alright, now where did you all get new tires for these monsters. I can find Zrated tires for the fronts for around $100, but the 18's in the rear all go for $150 and up. Got a $500 budget, any suggestions ?

Exactly why I swapped mine out for the aero. I paid $50 for it.
Also Buddy, if you go to the San Antonio 3rd Gen Page, there is a member on there named maxone who opened up a tire shop somewhere by 151 I believe. Check with him and let him know your from SA3GO he may cut you a deal.
Just so you know, this is now my new screen saver, that has to be one of the best looking z's ive seen . im a big fan of black and purple. aslo those rims are the same im buying within the week. what type of suspension setup do you have? any lowering springs and what not.
yea a very nice gentleman has a set of chrome vette rims just like those with a nice set of goodyears on it for 650. no curb rash or knicks and scratches, just a bit dusty. i cant pass it up
The Side windows and hatch are both tinted at 15% now.
