Just ordered new tires for my Z. Got Falken ZE-512's. 245 50 16 (front) and 255 50 16 (rear). I want to see all of the thirdgens on here sporting the same tire size combo with IROC wheels! Post pics of your IROC wheels with this size tire combo. Can't wait for mine to get here!
I dont got that set up but im gonna buy those after my school gets out and job picks up, after you've driven on them for awhile you think you could post up or pm me and tell me how well the tread lasts Ive read a bunch of reviews, and most of them said the tread lasts like 25-35k miles.
Well I had two of the tires mounted for the back rims and I just couldn't wait so I bolted them up for a test run. What a difference in ride, and that is just with the new rears! Once I am done refinishing the front irocs i will mount them, do alignment and see how they work out. Also just ordered drilled and slotted rotors!
They are all mounted up now! I will work on getting some pics. I am waiting on my orange anodized racing lug nuts still. They will match the paint when it is painted.
Thanks! I decided to get the spacer/adapter after seeing the way the back wheels fit.
The exhaust is custom. I started with a dynomax exhaust kit and modified it so that I could run these mufflers. Could use more room to get the mufflers in the perfect position cause they are not completely symmetrical, but no one notices. The mufflers are Rev-O-Tec. They come with removable silencers, but those are not in the pics. My car runs better with them out.
I don't know with what tires i should go with Falken 512 or BFG g-force sport? The falken states it's an all season & the BFG is summer tire. I live i Southern California were it hardly rains or snows would it be ok with the BFG's? I like the BFG tread design, I want a tire that will get good grip in dry and wet all year round. Can anyone give me advise?
I can tell you that I love the Falkens. I have only had them on there two weeks and have driven in sun, hard rain, and snow. Excellent traction.
The tire size, although numerically the same, can differ slightly from brand to brand. I have seen the BFG's and Falken 512s on iroc wheels and the BFG's seemed to look a little smaller than the Falkens.
Also, I will never buy BFGs again. I had a set of the radial ta's on a 67 mustang and they wore out WAY to quick.
i love my BFG G-Force Sport tires.
just make sure that if its cold and rainy out, that you drive extra careful.
mine came with a warning saying something like "warning, summer tires not for use below 45*F"
they mean it too.
the tires are an absolute joke in the snow... mind as well just get out and walk.
in the proper weather though, they are great.
mine are 255-50-16
I've got brand new tires sitting in my apartment still waiting to be put on. Here are my tires:
2 Falken HP Tires ZE-502, Rated H for my rear - Size 245-50-16
2 Linglong L688 UHP Tires, Rated W for my front - Size 225-50-16
I bought my tires off of www.tires-easy.com. They have the brand name tires at the CHEAPEST prices you'll ever pay. They're cheaper than discount tires. I looked around for along time too. But I'll post a couple of pics of my new tires.
I've also got a set of 4 Camaro wheels off of a 91 Z28 Camaro. It's essentially the same wheel as the 88 IROC wheels. I paid $292.00 for all 4 tires plus shipping!
