Car: 1990 camaro
Engine: 5.3 ls based
Transmission: turbo 400 with brake
Axle/Gears: undecided
How narrow can i make a 9 inch
I am currently getting ready to order a bolt in 9 inch and wanted to know how narrow i can make it without anything rubbing and possibly tuck my current wheels and tires i have centerline warriors that are 15x9 with a 4.5 inch back space with hoosier 29x10x15 slicks and plan on removing inner fender lip on rear. i heard 2 inches is the max on each side? any help or pics would be greatly appreciated thanks guys.

With those narrow rear wheels/tires, just get one at stock 3rd gen width & your good to go. I have 11"/7"bs/315s on a stock 9-bolt & only "minor" inner fender panel work, no tub of any kind.

you have to check clearance from you backing plate to the LCA mounts and the panhard mount, tire clearance to the same points and clearance anywhere else. You should be able to narrow a 3rd gen rear at least 1" each side, which will help your fitment. Anymore than that and you are on your own. Measure many times before you order anything.
