So I have flat spots...

I haven't gotten to drive the z28 since my brother in law delivered it for my birthday last week...and he tells me it has flat spots on the tires. I can guarantee this is from sitting on the ground for too long, basically 13 years, except 1 summer we rolled it around a bit.

Will they go away?

Anything I can do to get rid of them?

Give up and get some newer tires?

Im gonna have to get some tires anyway, since these are a bit dry rotted, but I was hoping to at least put some miles on these first.

No, they will not go away.

I ABSOLUTELY would NOT drive it if they have been sitting for that long. You'll wish you hadn't if one of those treads lets go from dry-rot. I tried the same thing with a 10 year old boat trailer last summer. The tires had so few miles on them that they still had all of the rubber feelers in the tread. You could just barely see a little dryrot in the sidewall, so I thought they would be fine. I made it 250 miles at 65mph before the tread blew off of one of them. It took most of the fender-well off of the trailer with it. I'm lucky the steel belts inside stayed intact and held air until I could get it shut down, or I very likely could have had a wreck on my hands.

If you can't afford new tires, pick up some used ones in good shape, but don't trust your ride to 13 year old tires that have done nothing but sit around. You don't want to lose a fender because you tried to skimp a few bucks. The chances that you'll be sorry are too great to risk.

If they have been sitting that long and are rotting, don't even think of driving on them.

X2
I've driven on 13 year old tires befor. It's like driving on ice. A stock '98 Neon should never be able to roll into wheel spin in 3rd gear

Its a shame too, cause they were less than 1 month old and $600 when I parked it, Falkens if I'm not mistaken

Yeah, I know how it goes. I rotted a set of set of tires letting my car sit for seven years. Think about how much it would cost to repair a quarter panel if you had a blow out, assuming you didn't wreck the car as a result. Tires are relatively cheap compared to wheels, fenders, body work, hospital bills, etc... Throw them away, they're worthless no matter how good they look. I think you should stick a knife thru the sidewall to stop the tire shop from selling them to someone else.
