Hey just wondering if anyone has for 305 35r17 on there cars. How did to I do it and do you need mini tubs? I need more traction and the 245 50r16 are not cutting it

There are no 305-35-17 on the market that I know of (they do make 315-35-17)...

Tell us more about your car - it may not be a tire issue, but a suspension-based one.

I'm building a turbo ls1 and traction will defiantly be a issue. I need something that I can use on the street. I'm gonna be making around 450-500 hp. So is the stock rear end gonna work or do I need to make it stronger or swap it out? Also I want the tires tucked in under the car not sticking out like a dragster. I know for sure I'm gonna have to mini tub it. Any ideas on rear end and how to get 315 35r17 to fit under a thirdgen

If you are looking for street/drag race type setup, it is best to forget about 17's & get a set of 15's so you can get some sidewall height. This does wonders with getting the car to hook.


If you are dead set on 17's you can still go up to a taller tire & get the benefit of more sidewall flex. They make a 295/45-17 that is about 27.5" tall & will fit better in the wheel well width wise without major mods.

Do I need to shorten my rear or just get diffrent offset wheels to tuck them under the car?

Just get the correct wheels.
