What pressure for tires?
Hi, According to the sticker on the door jamb, both front and rear tires on 3rd gen Formula should be 30 PSI. I have been keeping them at 34 with no problem. I dropped them down to 30 and they look too low.
What are your thoughts?

Re: What pressure for tires?
The rating on the tire is usually max PSI, I bought my 89 T/A in March of this year the previous owner had the tires at 40 PSI and the car just didn't drive right, the recommended PSI is 30, I dropped them down to 30 and it drove MUCH better but looked a little low so I raised them up to 32, looks better and still drives perfect, if you put to much in them you'll end up wearing the middle of the tires, somewhere around 30 to 32 is the sweet spot.

32 to 35 is a good range. As you drive your tires will heat up and thus the pressure. Usually 1 to 2 PSI.

Hi, I thought I had answered this, but it somehow got lost. I have the Cooper tires and did not think of checking the side wall for recommended PSI. Thanks for your replies.

Re: What pressure for tires?
Ok, here is the scoop. Checked the tire wall for info. All it said was max pressure was 51 PSI. Crazy...
Went to Cooper web site and they have graphs for different pressures. Based on the year of the car (87), empty weight plus payload would give me 35 pounds.
Checked a local dealer who sells Coopers, and he said that I should be using 34 PSI.
So I inflated them to 34 pounds took a ride and I am happy with the way it drives.
Thanks for your help.
