Which is the better intake?

Which is the better intake? The Weiand Action Plus or the Edelbrock Performer? I am leaning toward the Weiand because it has a 0-6000 rpm range as apposed to the edelbrock 0-5500 rpm range. Which intake is better or makes more power? Thanks!

if you're going 305...go with the cheapest one. edelbrock should be plenty good enough....i wouldn't be putting your 305 past 6000 anyway.....

The "rpm range" is mostly a marketing thing.

Damon Nickle, the carb guru, has used Edelbrock Performers for years and says they run to 6000 rpm with excellent power, no sweat.

Thus it comes down to who will give you a better price. You must be able to find these intakes second hand all over the place. I bought my Performer for $125 Canadian, which is $80 US. I'm sure the Weiands are the same price.

Good luck

its for a 350 with dart 2.02, 200cc, 72cc heads. Probably a Comp Cam XE268. Duels with hedders and probably a quadrajet carb. Need to stay with a spread bore intake.

Dont get the edelbrock performer intake. Someone told me that it is a pretty much stock intake. You seem to have a nice pair of flowing heads. I bought it for my GTA and returned it because I think it was holding back my engine. A lot of people reccomend the performer RPM because that leaves more room and opportunity to increase the performance of the engine. As for the weiand I am not knowledgable. Try checking out the carb section.

"Someone told me that it is a pretty much stock intake." If someone told you the moon was made out of blue cheese, would you just take that as Gospel?

Having had a stock 4 bbl GM intake on my LG4 305, and then replacing it with a Performer, I can assure you there is a world of difference.

It is when people don't address exhaust issues first that they find swapping intakes makes little difference. And that would be the same for an RPM or Weiand or whatever.

For your combo I would go with the Performer RPM Q-jet manifold.
