I'm considering swaping out my 305 LG4 for a crate. The question is...I think the LG4 was only a 2-bolt main. If the crate is a 4-bolt main can the swap still be done or do I need to make the car compatable for the 4-bolt main?

The two or four bolt main, is just the number of bolts that hold the main caps on. This really has nothing to do with the car, just the motor. To answer your question nothing has to be done to put a 4 bolt main engine where your 2 bolt main engine used to be, it'll go right in.
