Computer Chips
I want to upgrade my computer in my 89 TBI Camaro. I have heard good things about hypertech, but I was wondering if some one could give me another option to look at! Any help is welcomed help!

Your best bet would be to get a custom chip from Ed Wright at Fastchips, the cost is close to $350 though. If you don't have that kind of money, go with the Performance Resource Chip. I got mine for under $200 and with minor mods it took .25 off of my 1/4 ETs.

I have a hypertech chip and it works OK. I would rececomend however that the thermo-master is the way to go.

Axle/Gears: 3.42 Richmond
Dig through the archives on the Hypertech chips....I've seen mixed opinions on em. Stage 2 chips may not be good if you drive in cool weather.
I've never heard anything bad about Fastchip....I had a noticeable gain from mine, but I don't think it was worth the price. Don't get a custom chip unless you either modified the heads, cam, or injectors. They have VERY good tech support and alway respond in a timely manner.
You may consider looking through the classifieds for a used one.
