MSD 6-AL
MSD 6-AL
Should I get this or not? I have an accel supercoil and honestly I don't really like it. What do you think of the MSD any noticable gains?
thanks,
Bryan

I have the 6al with the supercoil. I'm happy with it. You wont find any gains but throttle responce might be better.
Well its not something that will make a night and day differnce in your car. A lot of people install one and are just happy with the increased throttle response. If you want more power out of you engine you have to take advantage of what the MSD does for you. It increase the power of your ignition which means you can either have more power to jump a sparkplug gap in a higher compression engine, but considering that you probably have a stock engine I am not going to get into you rasing your compression.
What you can do is increase you spark plug gap from (What I think is .035) to around .045 or .050. This will make a bigger spark causing a better and quicker burn in your combustion chamber.
Now to answer your question on wether its worth it or not. Well its like other modifications to you car, it will make bigger inprovements as you do more things to your car. Though I tell you, I would never get rid of mine. I love it.

Yea running a 10:1 compression ratio, you will see a little difference when you install one. Just remeber you need Low resistance wire. I recomend MSD Heli Core, and Brass contact on the rotor and cap. Rapid Fire plugs are also great.

6A is just the ignition booster
6AL has a built in rev limiter. yo uhave to use specific plugs to decide the rpm

I just ordered my 6-A with blaster 2 coil that is made to replace the stock coil today, plus the harness to make it all work too
I decided to get just the 6-A and not the AL to save myself the cash. All it includes is a rev limiter right? Thats the only difference i can see. Anyways, i want to go to the Digital-6 when i get the cash. Only reason i bought this all today was my stock coil took a crap today

Hey 88, only the AL includes the rev limiter, not the 6A.
