Baer??

anyone have any problems with this company??

i've been trying to get info together to order a set and not only is the info hard, but it seems like their shipping date after orders are placed are not only undetermined but very distant?

kind of hard to understand why a product like baer brakes can seem so good when it's hard to actually get ahold of the kit.

Is it the PBR calipers you're after or the Alcans.Don't know about the PBR,but the Alcans are British made,do they have to wait for a shipment?

Baer brakes shipping

I just finished installing a Baer Track (front) and Touring (rear) on my 91 RS.

Bear was about 5.5 weeks from order time to the day it landed on my doorstep (they quoted me at 4 weeks when I ordered). They kept saying that the rotors, coming in from Austrailia, were the hold up.

The wait almost killed me, but installation was a snap and they work well. Baer also provided limited (but much appreciated) tech support.

In case you're wondering, there was absolutely no delay between the time I placed the order and when the charge showed up on my credit card!

I purchased a complete Baer brake kit from Year one. It consisted of two front 13" drilled and slotted rotors, two twin piston pbr calipers, two front brake lines and two rear 12" drilled and slotted rotors for $1299 plus a refundable $175 core charge for the old splindles. I purchased this kit in August and it got to my door in October. That seems like a long time, and some days it was, but when I saw this kit complete on my 92 Z28 it was all worth it.

but you didn't get the 2 piece rotors correct?

what other options did you get? just cross drilled/slotted? no zinc?

what about on the caliper? coated, polished, or plain?

single piece rear rotor (non eradispeed)?

sorry for all the questions........just like to know what's out there. have any pics it sounds nice!

single piece 13" drilled, slotted and zinc wash.

rear is 12" all the same.

front calipers are 2 piston pbr's, satin finish with painted red baer logo ingraved into the caliper.

front lines.

no pics for the computer, not very computer literate. if you can find back issuses of the features below you can check it out.

the car has been down for the past year, since i took second at super chevy in nov 01, to a purple 91Z you actually have a picture of KANDIED91Z. It's the one with the reverse hood and twin paxton supercharger setup, with 18" budniks. He trailered it from Illinois to LA for a taping on Popular Hot Rodding TV, and thought He'd stop off in vegas and wax my a$$.

what are the part numbers for the rear?

i assume that you use the stock rear pbr discs? was there any modification. i was told that i have to go to the touring system to use a 2 piece rotor(eradispeed) or even to use the 12"

otherwise they sell a 11. something rotor that can be made to match the front single piece style. i already have a 11.something gm crossdrilled/slotted rear rotor so i don't want to have 2 of the same thing.

i looked to try and find some pics of your car with no luck. doesn't anyone have a picture of your car. i would really like to see it!!

by the way, what wheels are you running to fit the 13" ?

I think this kit that year one sells, is a year one only kit in conjunction woth baer brakes. The rear rotors are a 12" one piece with use of your stock rear calipers and there is no modification what soever. My wheels are 18" B. Coddington "Rodders" 18x 8.5 front. 18 x 10 rear.

Sorry no pics of car. does anybody know if like Kinkos scans pictures out of magazines on to disks???

Pic shrink

DwnCam-
One way to shrink pics K-size is to crop it and save the smaller image-
might help-might not.

use a paint or some other type of picture program to shrink the size of the picture or just cut the section needed and paste it into a new one and save as a smaller pic.

either way they aren't to hard to pull off.

There we go!! Kandied91Z sorry it took me so long to get you a pic. Don't really know much about this computer stuff. So there is the front pic and lets see if we can get two miracles in one day. This is the rear.
