new/rebuilt engine
new/rebuilt engine
I have an '84 Z28 w/ a 305 LG4 and want to upgrade it to a 350. I was wonder if anybody had any suggestions as to where I could find a good rebuilt or new motor for under $1500. I live in the Chicagoland area and any information would be appreciated, thanks.

For a new motor check out our sponser Scroogin Dickey.I'm not sure what kind of power your looking for, but they have 350/250HP crate engines that are around what you want to spend.I bought one for my 85 chevy truck and have had no problems with it.It comes complete from pan to heads. All ya need is the induction setup and distrb.

I also have an older 350, I think it is from a '74 camaro, that is sitting in my garage. I have a friend who can rebuild the enginge at his school but I think it was already rebuilt once. Its been sitting in a car for about 2 years and has been run once since then. I pulled it out about 3 months ago because I junked that car and got my camaro. When it was running it was leaking water in the oil, it think because I didn't install the new intake right. Would this engine be worth rebuilding and be able to pass emissions in my state or should I just go with a stock crate 350?
If u got the mulah... get a crate engine. Comes with a warranty and w/out the hassle of having to rebuild an older engine.
