Hi, I'm new to the board, this is my first post.

I have an 88 IROC with a 305 TBI and my alternator is going bad on me. I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on what kind/brand to get.

Thanks

I'd say that you should just go to your local auto parts store and just get the stock replacement.Even a remanufactured alternater will do, just make sure yu get the proper power output. If you are also powering an amplifier for a stereo you might want to step up to a higher output. If I were you I would not go to pep boys though.

Just have your rebuilt by a PRO. ABout $50-60 BUCKS, max, and you won't have to worry about it being the right one. Plus, it will/should last a long time.

Buy a A/C Delco and save yourself some headaches with the remamufactured Sh-t. My opinion.

Spend the extra $10-$20 to get a lifetime warranty. It's worth it.
