i think mines going out, shes overheating, and when she gets hot theres alllot of boiling water in the overflow tank.

What Brands are recommended?
what should i avoid and how much should i expect to pay?

Stewart and Edelbrock come to mind. Just remember you a reverse rotation water pump, not to many companys make one.

you can either get a high performance for $70-$100 or you can go to partsamerica.com and order a stock replacement for around $25. The one I got was $25 and carries a lifetime warrenty.

 

I just put a Flow Kooler high flow pump on mine, along with a 160 degree thermostat and that helped a bunch. The waterpump was about $80 through Summit, and they do make a reverse flow...that's what mine is.
