I just bought an edelbrock universal air cleaner, it doesn't fit my quadrajet at all, and the screw isn't tall enough to even screw the aircleaner in, how'd you guys get it to fit? Also is that air cleaner that comes with the edelbrock air cleaner any good or should i go buy a K & N. Thanks so much

 

you have to go buy a new stud for the air cleaner at a hardware store and trim it down to size. I would go with the K&N filter.

what do you mean by it wont fit at all?just the stud or is there another problem.It should fit.Mine lays on the water neck sensor but just barely,it also comes close to the distributor,but does fit fine.Be careful not to strip the threads down in the carb/tb essing with a new stud.

Are you using an Edelbrock Air Cleaner, cause on my LG4 it just won't sit right on the carb what-so-ever, do i need a low profile air filter for hood clearnce also???

 

the air cleaner you bought is probably a drop base, which requires that you by a spacer in order for it to sit correctly on the carburator(with a q-jet or elctric choke AFB)
