Caspers throttle response calibrator question
Looking through my Summit Racing magazine I spotted a Item made by Caspers Electronics. It is a thottle response calibrator. It plugs into the throttle position senser. It is suppose to get rid of eliminate hesitation when you mash down the throttle. Item number on summut racing website is CEI-102016. If anyone knows anything about this let me know.

If I understand correctly, the Caspers throttle response calibrators ensure that, when you press the throttle down 60-70% (depending on manufacturer), the TPS gets a full 4.5 volts.
Both Caspers Electronics & TPIS make throttle response calibrators. The Caspers Electronics calibrator takes effect at 70% throttle and, I believe, the TPIS calibrator takes effect at 60% throttle.
At the moment, I do not have one of these. Therefore, I cannot give an opinion about whether they are useful or not.

I got the capser throttle calibrator a few days ago and decided to install it on my 87 firebird with a v6 since it is a very doggy car. I did notice that it has a little more snap and runs smoother when i step on it. It would not spin the tires before i installed it and still wont but i didnt expect it to. Ill put it on the trans am 305 tpi this weekend and see how it does.

Glad to hear the calibrator helped! I'm looking forward to hearing how it works on the Trans Am.

Will it work with a 305 TBI?
Unfortunantly I have never worked on a TBI vehicle, so my knowledge is limited.
However, I did check my Haynes book and the TBI TPS did look the same (shape, connector, etc) as the TPI TPS... So there is hope.
At this time, the only advice I can give you is to contact TPIS or Caspers Electronics directly.
The phone # for TPIS is 952-448-6021 and email is hpfarm@aol.com (according to the website).
The phone # for Caspers Electronics is (847) 247-0484 and email is caspers@casperselectronics.com (according to the website).
The Caspers Electronics TPS Enhancer sells for $89 and the TPIS Enhancer sells for $90 (website prices).
I know this isn't a great deal of info, but I hope it helps.

I put it on the trans am and there seems to be a little difference. It feels like it picks up speed better. I also noticed at a stop light this weekend when a bronco wanted to race my tires broke loose better than they have before and i wasnt getting on it real bad. Not sure what it was done to my mileage since ive been getting on it quite a bit.
