Gss340 Vs Gss340m

Anyone know the difference between these two part #s? Both are fuel pump part #s from Walbro. I ordered the GSS340M, it came, and when I inspected it the part number is machined or embossed into the steal of the pump, the "M" (last digit) looks like someone carved it into the pump with a dremmel or something....WTF? I don't know what the deal is with that! I also don't know the difference between the "GSS340" and "GSS340M"

Thanks

The 340M is better than the 340 when used at fuel pressures over 60psi.

Actually , they are both the same fuel pump , the only difference is that the 340m (which stands for modified) has the front slightly turned down to accept a smaller filter sock . You are confusing the 340 and the 307 .

Your right. After I posted this I did some research and came up with the same findings as you. I also found out that it is normal that the "M" in the serial number is carved in by hand by whoever does the machine work on the inlet. The output of both pumps are the same.

Thanks for the feedback!
