This looks like a cheap alternative to 1LE style brakes and the ALU-MAX calipers are bolt on 2 piston replacements for the OE brakes???

I have been thinking about getting that kit for a while, but no one I know has tried it so I am a bit hesitant to be the first.

Maybe you should have asked this question also in the Brakes forum..SSBC also markets a 2 piston caliper to replace the stocker and I don't know anyone who has it.

This is my opinion:

Unless you also increase the size of the rotor, simply upgrading the caliper won't do that much. It would be a bit more pressure exerted on the same surface. If you increase the rotor size also, like jumping up to the C4 or 1LE 12" system, you would give the brakes more leverage due to the larger rotor, and more stopping power.

Just something to stew over....

well I dont have much money and I want to keep my GTA diamond spoke rims so I am limited in what diameter rotor I can use.

How much are these calipers? You can do a C4 upgrade for under $400 if you can do some of the parts yourself.

oh cool -- I will read up on the c4 upgrade on the brakes board.
really I was just looking for some cheap braking options up front because I saw how easy the LS1 rear disk setup was to put on a drum rear and wanted some thing beter than my stockers.
