I use one. Works great. When I first connected it I could not get it to work correctly. After calling Dakota Digital they told me the correct switch configuration. The instructions were wrong if I remember right. I swapped from an auto to a T5 and swapped my cable driven spdo to electric. I did not know what gear I had in the tail shaft. My spdo reads correctly now.

I have this box and I still had a few issues with my speedo. Your gonna get a few different responses on this box. Some have had good results and others have never got it to work right. The box works though. The directions where a little shaddy IIRC. just do a search and you should find tons of info including wiring hookups on it

I got mine to work great! The speedo was off 5 MPH or so, but I corrected that by adjusting the switches according to the chart and now it's dead-on !!

Good luck, it was kinda of pain to get it working right though!

I have had mine in since my t-56 swap a year ago and it works great. I have it converting the vss signal from the lt1 trans (different from signal needed by speedo) as well as multiplying for the correct reading. I had to dial in the speedo once for the trans swap, and then again later for a gear swap. The instructions are a bit cryptic, but it couldnt be any easier. Think of the switches as a binary multiplier (101001 etc. . ) and you can make on the fly changes without having to consult the directions.

do you have to change the tranny to an electric sending unit to use the box? does the box need a computer controled vehicle to work right?

its an electronic interface so i assume youd need an electric vss and speedo. If you have cable you should swap to electric anyway. You shouldnt need a computer controlled vehicle, atleast not thirdgen wise because the speed signal goes through the buffer box, not the ecm

the vss will go in the same place your cable connects to your tranny right now. Heres a pic of one from a 700r4, there should be a tech article on the gauge swap in camaros. Also if you changed rear end gears and thats it you can change the gears in the tranny that read the speed
