world 305 Torquer heads

Has anyone used these heads on their 305 TPI car. If so, are they anygood, and is it worth it to get them ported. Your responses are greatly appreciated.

Popular Hot Rod did a dyno comparison of those heads on a fresh .030"-over 305 TPI to stock heads that had a 3-angle valve job done on them. They pocket-ported the Worlds before bolting them on. With a mild Compucam (both tests), they picked up 50 HP with the Worlds.

As to whether they should be ported, two points:
1) Every magazine evaluation I've seen of these heads had them pocket ported - they didn't even bother comparing unported and ported.
2) Before I put in my order, I emailed World with my intended combo and asked them what they recommended, stating I intended to follow the Standard Abrasives do-it-yourself guidelines (www.sa-motorsports.com ). Their response was "Concentrate on the bowl area." I did the full SA job anyway.

They are quality parts otherwise. Should be able to give butt-dyno results after the weekend to answer the "are they any good" part.
