SLP Cold Air induction ....

Does anyone have this kit:
21010 1990-‘92 V8 Single Inlet

If so, what is contained in the kit?

I currently have the Random Tech Ram-Air kit which is very nice. But, with the kind of horsepower that I put out I am seeing my MAP decrease from 100 to 96kPa during a WOT run. I believe I have an inlet restriction in the stock camaro airbox. Yes - I have totally gutted the airbox and it is being force-fed fresh air through the Random Tech kit. However, I am still seeing a restriction. My bet is the entry into the airbox closest to the throttle body. That area has a very small diameter. I want to replace the airbox and ducting to see if it makes a difference. SLP is really the only company that makes a cold-air kit for our cars.

I would love the dual cold air kit but I am not looking to put the battery back in the trunk. I use to have it there but then moved it back to the front. So, it would have to be their single inlet system. Does anybody have any pics??

It is similar to the 86-89 kit with the exception of the air tube from the box to the throttle body. The tube for the MAP cars is 1 piece of ABS(I think it is abs) plastic. Here is the dual inlet picture. http://www.slponline.com/slpperforma...mage/21030.jpg Picture it without the right hand side and you have the single inlet.

I am sure that you could easily make that SLP system yourself for way less.

The biggest problem is the coolant hose from the radiator to the intake. Its pretty much in the way if you want to route a nice 3-4" tube there I think the SLP Kit may use a different radiator hose. Does anyone know about this??

Hey Trax...I have the kit for the MAF setup, but the SD setup is essentially the same. The kit doesn't come with a different radiator hose. I know SLP says to relocate the battery to the trunk, but I just relocated mine to the drivers side like the Firebirds. Here's a crappy pic:

I just relocated the charcoal canister behind the front bumper IIRC with a couple of large tie straps. It works great, you'll have to extend the vacuum hoses and wiring. HTHs

Okay, that didn't come out...I'll just email it to you if you want.

Tim,
Is there any way you can get ahold of a K&N throttle body air filter - just to see if it changes your MAP readings?

i'd like to see successful install pics of this system on a Speed density car, i've been waiting some time to get this because i dont want to waste the $$ on it and be unsuccessful fabricating a way around moving the battery.

I have the dual SLP intake and like it. The radiator hose is no problem. Take a regular water neck from a TBi motor, flip it backwards and head to the autoparts store and find a flexible upper hose to fit. Works like a champ! I can e-mail you a picture of mine.
