HP!!!!!!!!!!!!

i have a 1991 RS(305). I plan on going to the strip at least every other weekend, so i am looking for around 400HP. so first off iwanna ditch the 305 and probably just go with a 350. any one know a combo of heads, intake, cam etc..that will put me at 400+HP.

there was an article in chevy high performance where they used TPIS 52mm TB, big mouth manifold, LTR, zz9 cam, l98 aluminum heads ported w/ larger valves, edelbrock headers, random technology 3" catback exhaust, and holley pro strip annililator ignition system. 12.24 e.t. auto w/ 3.27 gears.

What is LTR, and do you now any other heads that would work with that combo.i want to just buy the stuff, bolt it up and be ready. i dont really like customizing things like that.

Everything MMR said was bolt on's. Theyre the easiest way to squeeze extra HP outa your engine. Now, the only "customising" that i saw was the aluminum L98 heads ported/larger valves... you wouldnt be able to do that yourself, youd have a machine shop do it. With the exception of that, you can bolt everything on yourself. Ohh BTW, LTR means Long Tube Runners, eg: TPI, Superram.

there are many companies that sell heads. edelbrock, dart, GM performance, AFR, to name a few. TPIS sells the L98 heads done the way they were done in the article part #500-512 for $1500.00. that's too much in my opinion. most of their stuff is. you can find other places to get the same parts. most people like SLPproducts. www.slponline.com

Go check out the TBI forum. Realize its very difficult to get 400 HP out of a TBI engine without a power adder like nitrous.
