Tune-Up

I wanna have my car tuned up this spring and I'm wondering, as long as I'm stuff, if there are any aftermarket products I should consider using over stock as far as performance goes. I'm planning on ordering some plugs/wires but I need to know which ones will give me the best bang for the buck. Plz let me know of any aftermarket stuff I should use... thanks.

Just about any cap and rotor with brass terminals will be fine, some parts-store ones come with aluminum (silver colored) terminals, they are crap. Taylor wires are pretty good quality for 40 bucks. Just get stock replacement AC delco plugs if you car is otherwise stock.

I know it won't be anything substantial, but do you guys have any idea about how much added power I'll get out of this stuff?

Probably depends on how rough the car is before the tune-up. The worse the car is, the more noticable difference will be seen after a tune-up. If your car is running great as is, then your just doing pre-emptive measures to keep it from running bad in the first place.

nah... my car runs pretty good- it's got 43,000 miles. I just figured it's time for a tune-up cuz everything on that car is 20 yrs old including the plugs/wires . The only thing I've noticed is that if I get on it when the engine is cold I get some light knocking... this was reduced quite a bit by switching to premium ($2.00/gallon ) and my dad thinks it'll go away after a tune-up.... we'll see.
