Modding a 350 HO (again...this time TPI)

Seeing as the last post got much attention, I'm hoping I can get some opinions on this topic as well. Basically I'm looking to set up a TPI motor, probably w/ an LT4 Hot cam. I just wanted your suggestions on that first of all. Next is which of two options should I take: Buy the 350 HO w/ vortec heads, Hot cam kit, SDPC Vortec TPI base, and estimated $200 in shop labor for the heads. This totals to about $3200. Option two is to get a basic GM L98 short block for $1135 (Or L31 short block, has 4 bolt mains but will give a few points less compression for $1199), Hot cam kit, AFR 190's and edelbrock tpi base totaling about $3250-3300 depending on short block. I'm thinking I will like the setup w/ afr's better, but im just throwing this idea out there to see what you guys think. i made a spread sheet totalling everything up (yes, i AM bored). right click here to download it if you want to see this all neat and organized
thanks!!

well i've been researching tpi/hot cam setups and i'm finding that the cam is a little too high revving for a tpi system. a buddy of mine runs 12.8's w/ this setup on a zz4 w/ 3.73's, increased stall and a stock chip. not sure if he has a ported base or anything though. anyway, i'm seeing better numbers than that w/ diff cams and afr 190's. can someone explain to me what makes the hot cam almost undesireable for tpi...im thinking the duration is too big. if so, what are some better numbers? thanks. btw i've got 3.08' but i plan to go 3.42's soon, and this is a daily driver
