Injector Options

Currently, I have 24# Accel fuel injectors (on my stock '89 350 TPI). I am also using a Stage II Prom from TPIS (to accomodate the larger injectors).

It's been about 3 years since I put in the Accel injectors and (surprise) they are going bad.

My question is, what other brand of injectors are out there for me to choose from?
I know Holley makes some, but they are really expensive.

Any info would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you.

why do you have 24 pound injectors on a stock car? usually injectors are done later on when the car requires more gas to handle the higher horsepower of other mods.

Most people who get into burning chips for a profit say that accels are not very acurate for fuel delivery. Ford SVO's are supposedly the best for the money. But yes, Holley's are better for $200 more(they better be!). The LS1s and vipers are supposed to good, just not as good. But for $100 for a set of 25pph LS1s, who could go wrong. You can get a set and a back up set for the price of one Set of SVOs!

The Ford injectors seem to be the setup right now. Your car came with 22# injectors and with the still stock engine I'd think the 24# should have matched up pretty well without the chip. Just curious. What is wrong with your Accel injectors? Winding impedance off or flow problems? Clean them?

I have a good miss at idle and i'm trying to determine, if the injectors are bad, what kind to replace them with.

24# injectors on a stock engine using a stock chip will run rich. I know this first hand. To run larger injectors properly, you need a re-calibrated chip.

The 22# injectors are good for about 350hp or so, so there's really no need for 24# unless you're going for big hp numbers.
